There are a number of access schemes and options for entry to university.
The two main schemes are Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) and Educational Access Scheme (EAS). The University Admission Centre processes applications for admission into university, calculates the students' ATAR and processes applications for EAS and SRS for entry into all NSW universities. This is a process between universities and UAC. The College is not notified of approval of an application.
School Recommendation Scheme (SRS) is open to all year 12 students and applications are assessed by using criteria other than (or in addition to) the ATAR. This is another method that some institutions use to make early offers of undergraduate admission to Year 12 students.
Education Access Scheme (EAS) is a program to help those students whose education has been negatively affected during Year 11 and Year 12 to receive a university offer.
To apply for EAS you must be able to demonstrate that, as a result of circumstances beyond your control or choosing, your studies were negatively affected for at least six months during Year 11 and/or Year 12. This link describes the categories of disadvantage, the supporting documentation required and frequently asked questions which may assist in submitting an application. Please note that not all courses are eligible for EAS.
Institutions use this to take into account the educational disadvantages many applicants experience. If you think this might apply to you, make sure you complete an EAS application and claim all the disadvantages that have affected your studies. We’ve added categories to help applicants who’ve been affected by a natural disaster, such as a bushfire, and those whose parents/guardians have been receiving JobSeeker or JobKeeper for at least three months
This process is managed by Ms Patricia Gallardo, Deputy Head of Senior School.
