Private providers (also known as private colleges) are small, independent tertiary education providers. They usually offer a select range of courses in a particular field (such as hospitality, digital media, natural health or performing arts). They tend to have have smaller class sizes and a supportive community to a student’s individual needs and development. They are not funded by the Government so have a different fee structure. Some do use the UAC application process and others have direct entry. Some universities also now have their own colleges that offer private courses with pathways to degrees they offer.
